Here I come!!

Life's a dance you learn as you go
Sometimes you lead, sometimes you follow
Don't worry about what you don't know
Life's a dance you learn as you go...

This is exactly where I am in my life right now and this blog is a part of this effort. Have been thinking of starting a blog, not for anyone else but for me and me alone.

Was scared of starting a blog, but then decided - What the hell, there may be thousands, in fact millions like me out there(I live in India you see, have to deal with big numbers!!!) who must be facing situations very similar to mine and who knows we may not be so different after all!! (Remember Carrie Bradshaw in SATC!!!)

The past one year has turned out to be quite a roller coaster ride, both emotionally and professionally. I went through the typical Indian drill - Done with my graduation, working in some XYZ company. But what I didn't bank on was meeting the kind of people that I did and having the kind of experiences that I had! I was hanging in mid-air only with a slim rope as support for gods sake!! Talk about embarrassing experiences!!

First year of office and on comes the barrage of people!! And some of them managed to sneak past my pretty high emotional barriers and firmly lodged themselves in my soul!! (Cheesy alert!!) And then comes the bout of eating, drinking, partying and all those things that are neatly packaged in a parcel called "Life of an Indian Techie". Not to say that I didn't have fun though! ;) Went through a lot of relationships, not one of them being my own. Courtesy: My ever-present friends and my god, did they take me on for an emotional roller coaster ride!!

Then came the stage of self-denunciation, viz-a-viz the opposite of "Everybody loves Somebody" and finally the stage of "I-don't-care-about-relationships-I-only-want-to-know-myself" which is where I am exactly right now. And believe me it's not so sad as it sounds, I have had my share of lows but an equal number of highs too. And I have the added perk of smirking at other peoples love life's. *Smirk*

The single life is treating me well except for the never ceasing "There's this guy that might be a good match for you" mantra at home(I know, I know, you have been there too) and an occasional *Ping* that you get when you see others happy in their own lovey-dovey world!! Am actually loving what I am trying to do, which is trying new stuff like blogging for instance and cheesy though it may seem, discovering who I really am.

So here's a toast to all those single gals out there who are going through all the hurdles of a relationship not their own, who are still ecstatic about where they are at this point in life and finally those who are always game to try new stuff!! :)
